Dr. Tina Lepage

Position: Divorce Coach, Child Specialist

Overview

Dr. Lepage has been providing services as a Child Specialist and Divorce Coach for over 15 years. She helps parents effectively support their children during the divorce, come to agreements about the parenting plan, develop or improve co-parenting skills, and can also meet with the children to act as the voice of the child. She works with parents to ensure they are well prepared emotionally and cognitively for meetings so they can be effective in reaching agreements. She strives to ensure all family members stay focused on the goal of there not being ‘winners’ or ‘losers’ but for all to emerge strong. Dr. Lepage’s direct yet respectful nature with parents provides them a safe space to hear sometimes difficult information, and reflect on the thoughts and feelings of the children. This is accomplished without blame, but with an eye toward ensuring the children transition through the divorce process with as little stress as possible. Dr. Lepage harnesses the shared goals of low stress for the children with a shared desire to have happy healthy children who grow into happy healthy adults. Sharing these goals facilitates parents having difficult conversations that are nonetheless fruitful and lead to resolution and shared agreements.

Experience

From the beginning of her career with a B.S. in Child Development & Family Relationships, Dr. Lepage has been focusing on families, and has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, parents, and children going through divorce. Dr. Lepage completed both her master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation in Clinical Psychology in the area of developing parenting plans, and is an expert in cooperative co-parenting and parallel parenting. Her combined experience in divorce transitions, child development, parenting plans, and conflict resolution make her highly sought out by people going through separation and divorce. A leader in Collaborative Divorce in North Carolina, Dr. Lepage has had the honor of helping numerous families directly, and as a collaborator with other Lepage Associates clinicians working on cases. She actively trains the psychologists at Lepage Associates in Collaborate Divorce, thus each of the other clinicians at Lepage Associates is mentored by Dr. Lepage, receives outside training, and are all skilled at divorce work in their own right. It is not surprising families experiencing the transition of divorce find the assistance at Lepage Associates invaluable.
